Since Carley's birthday was opening weekend of the hunt she decided to go to dinner the weekend before her birthday. She wanted pasta but didn't want to go all the way down to Macaroni Grill so I suggested Olive Garden.

Olive Garden does NOT sing Happy Birthday or give you cake or ice cream unlike Macaroni Grill that gives you the best Chocolate birthday cake ever. Our waitress put a candle in an Andy's mint.

Carley got a hat maker and made this beautiful hat below.

Opening Weekend

Well, it's finally here!! Opening weekend for archery deer and elk. Whoo hoo!!! Shane and Courtney had been waiting for this day for months.

Courtney is signing her archery deer license.

Shane has two license because he has a limited entry archery elk and an archery deer tag.

Shane's oldest brother Brian and his family went down to the Monroe mountains with us. This is Brian's newest grandbaby, Ethan.

Courtney and Carley fell in love with him. Neither of them wanted anyone else to hold him.

Ethan is a super good baby that never cries.

Golfing for Work

I played in a golf tournament with one of our suppliers from work, Zellerbach. I have played in this tournament numerous times and it has always been my favorite. This year it was on a Thursday so Shane could not play. I ended up playing with Doyle Converse (President of manufacturing at RMP), Ron Christensen (Versa Cold 's GM in SLC) and Bob Whitehead (Doyle's Friend).

Just in case you didn't notice, I will point it out to you. My name is mispelled and I don't have a last name. I find this odd because I have worked with Zellerbach for 7 years so I would have thought that they would know how the spell my name and what my last name was. Well, the more I think about it, its not odd. Leo who is our salesman for Zellerbach has always called me "T".

I hit the ball where this pretty flower was, I actually think this is a weed of some sort.

We golfed 6 under par and had a blast. After golfing we had a nice lunch and drawing. Everyone that played in the tournament received a gift. I got a ball retriever, I already had one so I gave mine to Bob to give to his girlfriend. It's because I am super nice!

Drive Inn

Summer time in Utah equals a trip to the drive inn movies. About two hours before we went a massive rain storm hit. Wait 15 minutes and the weather would change again.




Shane hates going to the movies but I was able to talk him into going to the drive inn. Carley wanted to see Despicable Me and Charlie St. Cloud. It worked out perfect because both movies were playing on the same screen.


We popped 4 bags of microwave popcorn, bought candy at Wal-mart and drinks at Maverik all because I will NOT pay the outrageous prices at the movies.

We forgot the lawn chairs so all 6 of us sat in the back of the truck. It was so uncomfortable that Shane and I stayed awake for both movies. This is so not like us, Shane and I are usually in bed NO LATER then 10 pm.

The drive inn is totally REDNECK and I love it!!!

Flat As A Pancake

My OB/GYN told me that I needed to give myself a birthday present this year since I will be turning 40. BINGO!! Vacation here I come! But a vacation was not what he had in mind. It's mammogram time.

This was not my first mammogram though. In 1997 I had 2 mammograms, 1 ultrasound and 1 lumpectomy. Luckily its was benign (non-cancerous).

This picture is so deceiving, my boobs aren't really as big as they look. I tell everyone that I don't have boobs, I have skin. I nursed all 3 of my children and they sucked all the boob out and left me with the skin. Good thing we have Victoria Secret! Oh, by the way, did I tell you that I am one of Victoria Secret's secrets?

Why can't all the good memories over ride the bad ones?
15 years ago today my dad died. It was one of the worst days of my life! I will never forget that day. Oh, how I wish I could! I hate remembering this day! I hate cancer, it stole my dad from us! I hate it, I hate it, I HATE IT!!!!

Dad,
I watched you suffer for many years so your passing should have came as a relief but it didn't. I wish you were still here! I know that's totally selfish of me but I really miss you! I love you daddy!

Muddy Mess

A new camp spot (Milo's Kitchen) on the Monroe Mountains leads to muddy dogs. They were like kids in a candy store. They couldn't get enough of the mud.

There was a muddy creek just before the big rocks that the dogs were running through to retrieve a stick that Austin was throwing.

Wouldn't you know it, the time I forget my big camera we see two big bull elks. My blog camera is only a 3x zoom so I was not able to get a close up. Dammit Theresa! 1 bull is in the meadow and the other one is to the right of the lone pine tree.

Next time I will for sure bring my big camera.

After looking at this post, I thought I should clear something up.

I only have 3 dogs, the other two are the Thomas'. Also this trip must have been all about the dogs because there are no pictures of our kids even though they were there!
